Welcome To Second String Child Care Center

Second String Child Care Center is a unique facility developed to provide backup care for children of Kaiser Permanente employees only.  Working parents occasionally face situations such as usual child care arrangements fail, elementary school is closed or children are mildly ill.  When these or similar situations arise Second String Child Care Center is available to you.

Online Reservation Request

To utilize care at the center a reservation must be made through this online reservation system.  This system is available to you seven days a week. All reservations are answered Monday - Friday within a 24-hour time period.  Weekend reservations will be responded to on Monday morning by 6:30 am. You will be notified if there is space available for your child on the day you are requesting care. If space is available you will be booked immediately into the space. We cannot always accommodate all requests due to the limited number of children and age restrictions of the centers license. If care is not available your name will be put on a waitlist, and if an opening occurs you will be contacted in waitlist order.

To use this site, please view the Schedule Calendar to check for date availability.  Then use the  Request form on the main menu to request a date for your son or daughter.  This is only a request form and does not guarantee placement.  You will be contacted either by email or phone with a confirmation. You must have your child enrolled at the center to make a reservation. 

Enrolling your Child

To enroll your children in the program please contact the center at 303-338-3799 and they will be happy to assist you in the process.  There is no fee to enroll your child, but you must be a Kaiser employee.    

Cancellation of Reservation

Reservations should be canceled prior to the date of care by e-mailing the center reservation system. If a cancellation has to happen the day of scheduled care, you need to call the center directly at 303-338-3799 prior to 7:00am. Second String is a valuable benefit to all Kaiser Employees we do our best to accommodate everyone. If you have made a reservation and do not need the care you need to cancel the reservation to allow someone else to use the space. If you cancel the day of care after 7:00 am a warning will be issued after the second cancellation. A third cancellation received after 7:00 am the same day of the reservation will result in a three-month suspension of the benefit of using the facility. If you do not show up for a reservation, a three-month suspension of your benefit could result.
